Lake Anna State Park sets on the shores of Lake Anna in Spotsylvania County. In 2011, a total of 277,341 people visited the park. This visitation generated more than $6.1 million in economic impact for the state and local economies.
For the reasons detailed in the attached letter, we respectfully ask that you withdraw SB 571. Simply put, this bill undermines the public recreational opportunities and community economic support that the Virginia State Park System brings to the citizens of the Commonwealth and its out of state visitors.
Thank you for the opportunity to express our views.
