Visitors Attractions: If you wish to bring your families, Westmoreland County has a wealth of historic and natural attractions. Stratford Hall - the birthplace of Robert E. Lee and Westmoreland State Park are just a short drive away. Caledon Natural Area in nearby King George County is the site of one of the largest concentrations of bald eagles on the East Coast. The Natural Area has hiking trails and a visitor center with conservation education exhibits.

Fredericksburg is approximately one hour west of the George Washington Birthplace.  In addition to the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, Fredericksburg also has many colonial sites including Mary Washington’s home which was purchased for her by her son George, and Kenmore, the home of George Washington’s sister and brother-in-law Fielding Lewis.

In Stafford County, on the way to Fredericksburg, is Ferry Farm, George Washington’s Boyhood Home National Landmark designated by the Secretary of Interior last year.

If you feel as we do, we invite you to join in our efforts.
