Supporting AND PRESERVING Virginia's national, state, and regional parks FOR ALL.
Seven Bends State Park
We advocate for park issues and seek funding to directly invest in parks.
The Virginia Association for Parks (VAFP) provides free technical assistance to strengthen or establish Friends Groups. We organize our annual conference, which includes training sessions and networking opportunities, facilitating the exchange of ideas between Virginia Parks.
Who we are
The Virginia Association for Parks (VAFP) was founded in 1997 to strengthen volunteer support organizations for parks in Virginia. VAFP evolved into a nonprofit umbrella organization for Friends Groups and individual volunteers dedicated to supporting Virginia's 43 state parks, 66 natural areas, and 22 National Park Service units.
what we do
VAFP champions all parks in the Commonwealth, advocating for park issues at the local, regional, state, and national levels. We seek dedicated funding to be invested directly in parks and pursue sustainable solutions for their preservation and enhancement.
